1. Open  the main interface window by double-clicking

the icon in the system tray, or open it by clicking Start,

then Programs, then Norton AntiVirus, then Norton AntiVirus again.

 

2. Click the Options button.

 

3. Click the Scanner tab, then click the Advanced button.

    

4. !!!! UNSELECT !!! the Allow Network Scanning box.

       

5. Click OK, and then click OK again.

 

If network drives are connected to your computer,

under "Drive type types:", you should now be able to

select ALL NETWORK DRIVES

To configure Network Scanning Options on the local computer

 

1. Start Symantec AntiVirus.

2. On the Configure menu, click File System Auto-Protect.

3. Under Network Scanning Options, do the following:

  * Check or uncheck Enable scanning.

  * Check or uncheck Trust files on remote computers running Auto-Protect.

  * Check or uncheck Network cache, and then type the setting that you want in the Entries box and in the Timeout (seconds) box.

4. Click OK.
