Unfortunately, communication with webcams is fairly susceptible to difficulties and different computers can behave differently even with
the same type of webcam. Sometimes problems start after updates to Windows or other software - it's hard to pin down.
Here are some suggestions in case the Webcam communications isn't always very reliable.
Open Preferences from the Maintenance Menu and look in the Miscellaneous Settings box,
if the key word ALTWEBCAM1
is there *remove* it.
If it's not there, *add* it, and see if one or the other settings works for your computers.
