Offer JM Care Plans, by Jewelers Mutual Group, at Point of SaleRight at the point of sale, you can offer to your customers the premium JM Care Plan for their item by the well-known Jewelers Mutual group.
(This is for maintenance and repair, not insurance for loss or theft. For actual insurance, click here to see Zillion Insurance. Unlike insurance, you are free to sell and collect money for care plans at point of sale.)
Jewelry Shopkeeper automatically sends the sale details on the sale to JM Care Plan who provide a quote, which can be added to the sale.
JM Care Plan advises you to not discount the price of the Care Plan itself. Check with your JM Care agreement or representative on acceptable ways of offering discounts and promotions on sales which include a JM Care Plan.
With every sale, you can now provide to your customers an additional valuable benefit for shopping with you!

( See contact details here: https://www.jewelersmutual.com/jeweler-care-plan#title-12216 or email Sales@JMCarePlan.com or call toll free: 1 (800) 582-4916 )
Next, from your JM Care Plan Rep, obtain your account credentials and type them in Jewelry Shopkeeper via the Preferences on the Maintenance Menu.
You will need all four of them.
Store Name as per JM. Note that JM might include in your credentials both a Corporate Name (perhaps Star Jewelry & Diamonds Incorporated) and a Store Name (perhaps Star Jewelers, TX) If JM doesn't appear to provide you with a Store Name, you can enter your store name in a "friendly format", as you would for your on-street store front.
Store Code, perhaps also called Store ID. Similar to : 3578K47 API Key, or just called Key. Similar to a jumble like : 92abb818-38e2-475e-a3f7-30e4bf119d84 API Secret, or just called Secret. Similar to a jumble like : YYYYYImJj9v3fm95jrrenzma8
It's important to use the same upper and lower case combinations. In fact you should copy and paste from the JM email into Shopkeeper. I.e. use standard Windows Shortcuts Ctrl-C to copy and Ctrl-V to Paste.
Because the Care Plan will appear as a Sku line in the sale, you will need a major class code for the Care Plans.
Typically this will be near the end of the list of major codes, near the other service or non-inventory categories, and must be flagged as a repair or appraisal or n/a type - anything other than Inventory. You will need to determine whether it is a taxable category in your area.
