Image and Picture Photo Editing Software

Via the Picture Manager screen of Jewelry Shopkeeper, you can open picture files in order to edit them if you have picture or photo editing software available by clicking on the Edit Picture button.

If you simply want to view the picture in a larger window, you can double-click the image.

Prior to Windows 11, all Windows installations had, at the very least, the simple editing program called MS Paint and this is the default photo editing software that Shopkeeper will use if you have not specified your own preferred photo editing softwrae.

Unfortunately, Windows 11 has semi-removed the simple MS-Paint program. ( Windows "hides" it  from other applications - it can run only within Windows itself.)

If you have a preferred picture editing software, you can  specify / find that by *right* clicking the "Edit Picture button within

the Picture Manager screen of VJS,

Then you can find your picture editing program. E.g. in this example, we selected the program paintdotnet.exe     (for  Paint.Net) which was installed in the folder C:\Program Files\paint.net

It might take a bit of searching through Windows folders to locate the exact program file for the editing software.

VJS will remember your choice for future access so that the next time, you simply click the  Edit Picture button as normal without right-clicking.

To make your photo editor pop up more quickly, you might want to select a "smaller" editing program rather than a mega  program such as PhotoShop. ( Although, if a copy of PhotoShop is already open, it won't take extra time.)

If you don't have a preferred editing software, a very well-known lightweight program is Paint.Net. It is a shareware program, so there's no charge to download it, but if you use it, especially in a business setting, you would make a donation via their website.

To make it easier to install, we have put a copy of its installer program on our website.

You can download Paint.net from the Paint.net  web page: https://www.dotpdn.com/downloads/pdn.html

but it can be confusing to know where to click because of the adverts.

(Do not get it from the Microsoft Store - that version also  "hides" itself from other applications.)
