RE:DOS SUB-SYSTEM ERROR - Windows XP or Windows 2000 or Windows NT

IF you're receiving an error: ERROR: 16 bit MS-DOS Subsytem

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The System file in not suitable for running

MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows Applications. Choose 'Close" to terminate the

application.

It indicates that one of your Windows files is damaged or missing

You want to put  a copy of the file AUTOEXEC.NT from the REPAIR folde

under the Windows folder into the SYSTEM32 folder under the Windows

folder.

To fix this:

Click START

Click RUN

TYPE: COMMAND

Click OK

(if you get an error trying to run this COMMAND program

see Mouse Instructions below)

Below note the part C:\WINDOWS\ may need to be changed

to C:\WINNT\  - you'll know if you need to if the error

message you see on your screen starts with that.

At the C:> prompt type:

COPY  C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT  C:\AUTOEXEC.BAD  (press Enter)

(should say 1 file(s) copied)

COPY  C:\WINDOWS\REPAIR\AUTOEXEC.NT  C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32  (press Enter)

(answer YES if prompted to Overwrite)

(should say 1 file(s) copied)

EXIT    and press Enter

Try Shop-Pro again.
