PENDING.DEP

You can set up a "Pending Deposits Account" in the chart of accounts in the

asset section and then specify this as the account to be used for the Chart

of Accounts Defaults questions: (e.g. choose Menu Choice 8,5,3 to get to

"charge of accounts defaults")

The next four are usually the same and either are blank or start with 1

DEFAULT ACCOUNT FOR BANK DEPOSITS: 110

ACCOUNT FOR PENDING CASH DEPOSITS FROM Z-REPORT (1): 110

ACCOUNT FOR PENDING CHECKS DEPOSITS FROM Z-REPORT (1): 110

ACCOUNT FOR PENDING CREDIT CARD DEPOSITS FROM Z-REPORT (1): 110

If you do, then when you run a Z-Report, the depositable money for that day

is added to the pending deposit account. Then when you make a deposit into

the bank account, the deposit would be posted against this account which

would deduct from the pending deposit asset account.

Normally you would answer all four questions with the same G/L account

number - perhaps 110 or something like that. Make sure you do NOT use the

same account number as the bank account G/L account number.

If you do NOT want to use this "Pending Deposits Account" feature, go

to the page described above in the "chart of accounts defaults" and

blank out the g/l codes in the four lines mentioned above.

If you do NOT want to use this feature but there have already been entries

added that you don't want to keep - note that these entries are regular

General Journal entries that you can find and delete using option 5,5,8

"Edit a General Journal Entry"
