TIPS FOR CORRECTING JEWELRY SHOPKEEPER ICONS FOR A
WINDOWS COMPUTER ON A NETWORK
(for a workstation/slave, not the server/master computer)
These tips can help you resolve some simple network problems, but if
the problem is more tricky then you'll need to have the person who
configured your network correct it.

These simple steps may work in many cases:

Restart the Server/Main computer, then once it's back up restart the
other computer(s). If that doesn't fix it try these steps.
1) At the Windows 95/98/ME desktop RIGHT-click Shop-Pro icon
2) Choose properties
3) Choose Program
4) NOTE the drive letter at the beginning of the WORKING folder (eg.
F: or E: or G: or J: etc.)
5) Click CANCEL
6) Double-click Network Neighborhood / Network Places
7) (If using Windows ME, double-click on the Entire Network icon)
8) Double-click the Computer icon that is the SERVER computer
9) RIGHT-click the DRIVE where the COMPLINK.JS folder is located (e.g.
C:, or D:) - but click the drive itself, NOT the complink.js folder
10) Choose MAP NETWORK DRIVE
11) OFF THE PICK LIST, choose the DRIVE LETTER OF THE WORKING FOLDER YOU
NOTED IN STEP 4.
12) Click OK
13) Try Shop-Pro

1) Go to the Windows 95/98 Desktop. (the screen with all the icons and
Start button, etc.)
2) If you know the driver letter pointing to the server go to step (4).
Double Click MY COMPUTER. Look for an icon the reads something like:
C on SERVER (F:)
(in this example the drive letter F: is going to be the example
Yours may say D: or E: or G: etc)
If you see such a drive letter then go to step (4)
a) If NO drive reads something similar to the above you'll
have to create one.
b) Close the MY COMPUTER window.
c) Double click NETWORK NEIGHBORHOOD
d) Double click the computer that is the SERVER computer
e) There should be a folder that says C or CDRIVE
f) Right click the folder
g) Choose Map Network Drive
h) Drag down to F:
i) Make sure "Reconnect at Logon" is checked
j) Close ALL windows
k) Go back to 1.
3) Close the MY COMPUTER window.
4) Move your mouse pointer on top of the JS-MENU icon.
Click the RIGHT mouse button (once).
Click "Properties" (this time with the LEFT mouse)
Click the "Program" tab.
Change the WORKING: line to read:
F:\COMPLINK.JS
(note that the C:\COMPLINK.JS may already be there.
You need to CHANGE the C: to F: or your drive letter)
Click "OK"
5) Move your mouse pointer on top of the Shopkeep icon.
Click the RIGHT mouse button (once).
Click "Properties" (this time with the LEFT mouse)
Click the "Program" tab.
Verify that the CMD box reads:
\COMPLINK.JS\MFOXPRUN.EXE JS
Change the WORKING: box to read:
F:\COMPLINK.JS\DATA.JS
(note that the \COMPLINK.JS\DATA.JS should already be there. You
need to ADD F: at the beginning of the line. or your drive letter)
Click "OK"
6) Move your mouse pointer on top of the Shop-Pro icon.
Click the RIGHT mouse button (once).
Click "Properties" (this time with the LEFT mouse)
Click the "Program" tab.
Verify that the CMD line box reads:
\COMPLINK.JS\FOXR.EXE -c\COMPLINK.JS\PRO\CONFIG.FP JSPRO
or
..\FOXR.EXE JSPRO -c..\PRO\CONFIG.FP
Change the WORKING: box line to read:
F:\COMPLINK.JS\DATA.JS
(note that the \COMPLINK.JS\DATA.JS should already be there.
You need to ADD F: at the beginning of the line)
Click "OK"
7) Try each of the icons to verify that they work.
