Alternative Picture Folders for Inventory

If you want Shopkeeper to look in an alternative folder

than its standard (which is \INVPICT off the root on the

same drive where Shopkeeper lives)

then you can put an environmental variable in Window

to redirect Shopkeeper

 

Here's now to add an "environmental variable" in Windows XP

 ON THE XP computer, at Win Desktop

 RIGHT CLICK MY COMPUTER

 Choose properties.

 Choose Advanced Tab

 Choose ENVIRONMENTAL VARIABLES

 At the BOTTOM (system variables)

 Click NEW

 TYPE        NAME: INVPICT

               VALUE: \IMAGES\INV

       

 Click OK.

 RE-START SHOP-PRO (no need to reboot)

 

Note - the folder path should be comprised of simple

Folder names (each with 8 or fewer letters and no spaces.

\IMAGES\SHARED\INVENT\NEW  is fine but

\MY PICTURES\INV   is not

Shopkeeper can use separate folders for each major code of

You make the INVPICT environmental variable like this:

\IMAGES\INV???   Or  \SHARED\PICTURES\INV???

With three question marks. With that format Shopkeeper will

Expect pictures to be in folders

 

\IMAGES\INV1  for major code 1

\IMAGES\INV25  for major code 25

\IMAGES\INV375  for major code 375

etc

(but not \IMAGES\INV025 for major code25)
